Leadership Blount, a nonprofit leadership development organization, is seeking applications for the Executive Director position. Successful candidate will have a proven record of community involvement, possess excellent planning skills & enjoy working with people. Successful candidate will be responsible for developing, planning and delivering programs in conjunction with committees and the LB Board of Directors. Candidates must be self-motivated, willing to work individually and able to work a flexible schedule that includes some overnight travel. This full-time position averages 30 hours/week and is responsible for supervising 1 part-time staff. This position does not include health insurance or benefits. Executive Director Job Description
Definition
To perform a wide variety of program, financial and supervisory responsibilities in support of Leadership Blount and its programs. This is a full-time (averages 30-hours/week), flexible position which does not include health insurance or benefits. This position reports directly to the Board of Directors of Leadership Blount.
Essential Functions
Develop, plan and deliver programs and services for each year’s class to include monitoring needs and awareness of audience and obtaining and processing regular feedback about program and service delivery. This also includes planning special events: Leadership Summit, Opening Reception, Graduation, Community Leadership Award Breakfast and others as needed or required.
Assist class, when needed, with Legacy Project implementation. To include facilitation of process, fundraising guidance, special events attendance
Establish, maintain and advance community relations: Initiate and develop relationships with a broad range of community sectors. Undertake activities within the community that enhance the visibility of LB. Represent LB on appropriate committees and joint projects. Develop and provide information about LB’s programs and services.
Responsible for financial management of the organization, including the development and implementation of the annual budget.
Work with BOD chair to determine potential board members, committee members and committee chairs.
Develop with BOD strategic plans and yearly goals to achieve long term plans.
Responsible for support of all activities associated with the Board of Directors including staffing for all Board and Committee meetings, meeting schedules, locations, development of agenda and meeting materials, yearly retreat and other BOD functions.
Responsible for providing information, advice and counsel to the Board Chair, Board of Directors and Board Committees in the creation of policies, programs, and strategic direction.
Communicate with and manage volunteer base of 630+
mni records including giving history and contact information for alumni base of 630+
Work closely with Maryville College representative to maintain lease agreement for the Alexander House office space.
upervise Associate Executive Director.
Perform other Leadership Blount duties as required. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Proven experience in managing volunteers; familiarity with basic computer applications; 3-5 years experience in initiating, planning, implementing and evaluating programs and services; proven experience in group facilitation and group dynamics.
